Arizona Soccer Club would like to thank the teams and referees that came out on a HOT evening to play for their respective division championships. We started out with the Division One championship game which had the AZVN VS CAZ Rangers. The first 45 minutes ended with a 0-0 tie, with a few dramatic saves by CAZ Rangers goal keeper. Early in the second half one of the AZVN players played a lofted shot over the CAZ Rangers goal keeper to take a 1-0 lead. The remainder of the second half went back and forth ending in a 2-2 tie. Both teams returned to the pitch to settle the match for two ten minute extra periods, but at in the end the match was settled by PKs 5-4 for the Division One Champions, CAZ Rangers
The Premier Division had Azurri VS CAZ United. This game had it all, brothers playing against each other, speed, technique, tactics and it was a physical game. Both teams had a few shots on goal throughout the game with Azurri, finding the back of the net in the 75th minute, which is how the game ended 1-0 on favor of Azurri.
In the end, all four teams came out and played with great sportsmanship and a respect for each others team and the referees. Congratulations to both division Champions and we look forward to starting another successful season in a few weeks. Once again thank you to all the teams that participated in the last season and to all the staff and referees.
